How to share your entire screen on a Google Meet on a Mac or Apple computer

Updated over a week ago

While using Google Meet on a Mac, sharing a Tab or Window will work in most cases, if you encounter this message when attempting to share your entire screen on a Mac computer over Google Meet, this article is for you. This requires a small amount of configuration, and we'll show you how.

How to enable screen recording for Mac

  1. At the top left of your computer screen, click on the Apple icon and select "System Settings..."

  2. Select "Privacy & Security" in your system preferences, then select "Screen & System Audio Recording"

  3. Look under the "Screen & System Audio Recording" section for your browser. If your browser is not shown, click on the + icon and add it from your applications folder. Then, toggle the switch at the right side to on.

  4. When prompted, enter your system password. You will be asked to restart your browser for the change to take effect. If you're already in a google meeting, you can save the URL and rejoin after restarting your browser.

And that's it, you should have no problems sharing your entire screen. Reach out in chat if you need additional help or have any questions.
