How to set a shipping cutoff time or schedule shipments for Monday

How do I keep shipping for tomorrow after I print my manifests?

Updated this week

If you regularly continue creating shipping labels today for packages which will be shipped tomorrow (or a different date), you can create a shipping rule to set the date of shipments into the future. The future shipping date you choose will be the date when those shipments are included in the created manifest.

This is useful if you need to set a future date for labels created after your carrier's pickup time, over the weekend, or on holidays.

Visit your shipping rules to get started.

Note: We recommend making daily manifestation of shipments a part of your shipping policy each day, regardless of whether any shipping dates have been future dated to ensure that all shipments are always accounted for on pickup. If no shipments exist with the current days shipping date, you'll see a message for "No shipments were found to manifest." If this is a mistake, see our USPS/Royal Mail past manifests article

Set a shipment cutoff time

For shipments created after a shipping cutoff or carrier pickup time, intended to ship the next day:

  1. Add a filter and set the criteria for "time of day", then choose your cutoff time

  2. Add an action for "set shipping date"

  3. Set "add_days 1" as the parameter value

Weekend shipping

For weekend shipping, set up two separate shipping rules, each using "Day of the week" as the criteria.

Friday

Shipments created on Friday after a shipping cutoff time (carrier pickup time) which will be picked up on Monday:

  1. Add a filter and set the criteria for "time of day", then choose your cutoff time

  2. Add a filter and set criteria for "day of the week" equals Friday as the criteria

  3. Add an action for "set shipping date"

  4. Set "add_days 3" as the parameter value

Saturday

Saturday shipments that will be shipped on Monday:

  • Add a filter and set criteria for "day of the week" equals Saturday as the criteria

  • Add an action for "set shipping date"

  • Set "add_days 2" as the parameter value

Sunday

Sunday shipments that will be shipped on Monday:

  • Add a filter and set criteria for "day of the week" equals Sunday as the criteria

  • Add an action for "set shipping date"

  • Set "add_days 1" as the parameter value

Holiday shipping

For holiday shipments, create a shipping rule that you can activate and deactivate on holidays. Adjust the criteria as needed and set action parameters to the next business day.
