How it works
When activated, SKULabs will push the current cost for each item to it's connected product on Shopify on an ongoing basis.
Setup:
You must first confirm that ALL items and kits in your SKULabs catalog have a cost setup for them, and that the value is correct. Changes cannot be undone once the sync occurs.
Costs can be imported or updated within the app or in bulk by CSV using the imports page.
You must take a back up of your current product costs from your sales channels.
Once you have confirmed all costs are associated to items and kits, visit your settings > inventory > Price Sync settings
Enable the cost sync toggle beside the store and click save.
FAQ
Do other sales channels support Cost sync?
Not at this time.
Can I filter which items push cost?
Not at this time.
What happens if an item does not have a cost in SKULabs?
SKULabs will not sync cost to Shopify when item cost is:
A non-numeric value
Greater than the retail price or the value of an item's price sync rule
Zero, negative, or empty/undefined
You can review any potential issues with syncing cost in your sync reports.
What happens if an item goes out of stock?
The cost last pushed to Shopify will remain the same. There is no special logic for when an item goes out of stock except as noted below:
Note: The cost average for an out of stock item will always reset once new inventory is received at a different cost. This is because the average of (old_cost
* 0 qty) + new_cost
* new_qty
will always be the new_cost
.
See How to enable Cost Averaging for more information.
Does it work for kits?
Yes, but you must set a defined kit cost. Calculated kit costs are not supported at this time.
How often does it sync?
Generally, costs will be synced every 30 minutes.
Can I resync cost manually?
Yes, you can use the resync button on the price sync setting page. This will still take some time to reach all products costs.
