Shipping orders using your Amazon FBA inventory

Updated over a week ago

Do you:

  • Stock inventory in Amazon FBA warehouses?

  • Route your multi-channel orders to Amazon for fulfillment?

  • Occasionally run short on inventory and ship items out from your FBA stocks?

This article will teach you how to dropship your orders via MCF using your FBA inventory manually or automatically within SKULabs.

How to create a manual MCF fulfillment

1. Open an order you would like to dropship using Amazon MCF

2. Scroll down to the Fulfillments panel and click the "Add fulfillment" button.

3. In the window that appears, choose which Amazon store you would like to dropship from and the other fulfillment options such as the fulfillment Policy and Speed you would like to use.

4. In most cases, SKULabs will automatically fill in your Seller SKU for you. In this case, because we didn't have an FBA product linked to this SKU yet in SKULabs, you'll need to provide the Seller SKU manually.

5. Click the "Fulfill" button.

How to *automatically* fulfill orders using your MCF inventory.

Open your Amazon store's settings within SKULabs and scroll to the bottom right panel where you see the Amazon FBA Auto-Fulfillment panel. Click to expand the section and fill out the form as instructed below:

  • Auto-fulfill orders

    • Always fulfill orders — select to fulfill orders for this store

    • Never fulfill orders — select to never fulfill orders for this store

  • Source Amazon store — specify the Amazon store you would like to dropship from.

  • States — filter orders by state by providing a list of state codes (one per line) to control the destination states to auto-dropship to. Leave blank if you want to dropship to all states.

  • SKUs — filter items by SKU by providing a list of item SKUs you would like to dropship. Leave blank to dropship all item SKUs.

  • Policy — specify how unfulfillable items should be handled

    • FillOrKill — If an item in a fulfillment order is determined to be unfulfillable before any shipment in the order moves to the Pending status (the process of picking units from inventory has begun), then the entire order is considered unfulfillable. However, if an item in a fulfillment order is determined to be unfulfillable after a shipment in the order moves to the Pending status, Amazon cancels as much of the fulfillment order as possible.

    • FillAll — All fulfillable items in the fulfillment order are shipped. The fulfillment order remains in a processing state until all items are either shipped by Amazon or cancelled by the seller.

    • FillAvailable — All fulfillable items in the fulfillment order are shipped. All unfulfillable items in the order are cancelled by Amazon.

  • Shipping methods — map requested shipping methods to Standard, Expedited or Priority shipping methods. NOTE: only the orders that have requested shipping method provided here are dropshipped. If you want to dropship all orders, provide all requested methods.

    • Standard Shipping Methods — list requested shipping methods you would like to be dropshipped with standard shipping method.

    • Expedited Shipping Methods — list requested shipping methods you would like to be dropshipped with expedited shipping method.

    • Priority Shipping Methods — list requested shipping methods you would like to be dropshipped with priority shipping method.

Once you have completed the configuration, save your changes by clicking save at the top right or the store settings page.

Assign Fulfillment SKUs to items

A Fulfillment SKU is the way that Amazon identifies a product as unique to the seller that has sent it to the Amazon fulfillment center. It is separate from the regular item SKU.

The next step is to assign fulfillment SKUs to items. This can be done by editing items one-by-one or in bulk via CSV. Open an item > Edit > provide Fulfillment SKU and Save. We recommend using a CSV when working with more than a handful items. Simply include a SKU and Fulfillment SKU column using the Item Details import.

  1. Create a "Listings and items export" CSV file which includes the Fulfillment SKU (FNSKU) value.

    • Use these settings:

  2. From the exported file create an 'Item Details" import CSV file. Remove all columns except "SKU" and "Fulfillment SKU". Remove any item rows in which you do not want to drop-ship. All FBA items will have a listed Fulfillment SKU. Save the file as CSV.

    • View of "listings and items" export.

    • View of file ready to import to "item details".

  3. Import the file from Import/Export > Imports > Item Details

FAQ

How can I prevent duplicate shipping?

MCF dropshipped orders are automatically assigned "Awaiting fulfillment" status, which indicates to shippers that part of or the whole order has been dropshipped, therefore it must be handled accordingly to prevent double shipping. In addition, configure shipper's order filters to exclude orders with "Awaiting Fulfillment" status. Here is where you can find more information on how to set filters.
